DBT Skills Groups

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills groups provide a structured, supportive environment for individuals to learn and practice practical coping strategies that improve emotional and interpersonal functioning. These groups focus on the four core DBT modules: mindfulness (staying present and aware), distress tolerance (managing crises without making things worse), emotion regulation (understanding and reducing intense emotions), and interpersonal effectiveness (communicating needs and setting boundaries effectively).

Participants explore real-life applications of these skills through discussion, exercises, and examples, often including media or everyday scenarios. Learning in a group setting allows members to gain support, practice skills with peers, and see how others navigate similar challenges. DBT skills groups are particularly helpful for managing anxiety, depression, emotional dysregulation, relationship difficulties, and stress, providing tools to cope more effectively and make lasting behavioral changes. Please see current groups below.
